- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,870 – $3,020
- Location: New Haven, CT 06510 — travel nurse assignment in Connecticut (New Haven County)
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
- On-Call: Two 24-hour calls per schedule; 2 calls per M-F week (either 7pm–11pm or 7pm–7am) with 1 day per week available to stay late
- Patient Ratio: Average 1:2
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Charting: Epic (electronic medical record)
- Parking: $125/month
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN (cardiovascular operating room) experience — 1.5 years considered if Level I trauma center or previous travel nurse experience
- Active Registered Nurse license (Connecticut RN license must be obtained prior to start)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Ability to independently scrub and circulate for cardiac surgery cases (CABG, valve replacements, advanced thoracic procedures)
- Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Ability to float within scope as needed
- Seasonal flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- One professional reference required
- First-time travel nurses accepted — travel nursing and per diem CVOR RNs encouraged to apply
Primary Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate independently for cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG and valve surgeries
- Deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care as a cardiac OR RN and perioperative nurse for adult and geriatric patients
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary surgical teams in a fast-paced Level I Trauma Center environment
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond promptly to urgent surgical needs
- Maintain accurate documentation using the Epic electronic health record system
- Float to other units within scope as required to meet facility needs
- Adhere to all facility protocols, safety standards, and compliance requirements
