• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,380 - $2,550
• Location: Abilene, TX (79601) — Travel MRI Tech position, West Texas
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: Night shift, 4x10-hour shifts (19:30 – 06:00, Friday–Monday)
• Hours per Week: 40

Job Requirements — MRI Technologist Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of MRI technologist experience in hospital or outpatient radiology settings (trauma Level II hospital experience required)
• Active ARRT certification required (MR preferred)
• Texas Medical Board MRT license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Experience with Allscripts charting system preferred (Altera experience a plus)
• Proven ability to work with diverse patient populations and multiple age groups
• IV start competency and comfort managing patients under anesthesia when required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Must pass facility drug screen upon arrival (includes Marijuana)

Responsibilities — MRI Technologist Duties

• Perform MRI examinations including breast, cardiac, arthrograms, anesthesia-assisted scans, and pacemaker/conditional device studies
• Prepare and administer MRI contrast media safely and according to protocol
• Operate MRI-compatible monitoring and support equipment; adhere to MRI safety and radiation-safety protocols
• Start peripheral IVs and manage patient care during MRI procedures, including sedated and pediatric patients
• Use advanced imaging techniques: CINE, perfusion, diffusion, gradient echo, MIP, multiplanar reconstruction, spin echo, and T1/T2-weighted sequences
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—nursing, respiratory therapy, IV team, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social services—to ensure coordinated patient care
• Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation using Allscripts/Altera; ensure timely image transfer and PACS handling
• Participate in orientation, complete mandatory training modules, and support quality improvement initiatives in the MRI department
