Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Oregon City, OR | 13-week travel contract | Night shift | Epic charting | BLS, NRP, AWHONN required. Join our maternal and newborn care team in scenic Oregon City (Willamette River), minutes from Portland and outdoor recreation.

Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160 – $2,270 (competitive travel nursing pay)
  • Location: Oregon City, OR 97045 — Oregon nursing jobs, travel nursing opportunity
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
  • Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:00)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Setting: Short Term Acute Care – Level II Maternity Unit with Level I Nursery (LDRP model)
  • Charting: Epic (experience preferred)
  • Parking: Free onsite parking
  • Float: May float within hospital or to affiliate facilities (Milwaukie, Newberg, Portland, Hood River, Willamette Falls, Seaside, Saint Vincent)
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required

Qualifications / Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (consideration for 1 year if from a high-risk/high-census L&D unit)
  • Current Oregon RN license required (may submit with pending license)
  • Required certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced, STABLE
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record
  • Proven LDRP (labor and postpartum) and perinatal nursing experience
  • Ability to float to other units and affiliate facilities based on hospital needs
  • Reliable vehicle for assignment travel to affiliate sites
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive maternal and newborn care for laboring and postpartum patients in a 14-bed LDRP unit
  • Manage 1:1 labor and 1:3 postpartum patient ratios in accordance with unit policies
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries, spontaneous vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and postpartum recovery
  • Perform antepartum and postpartum assessments, triage obstetrical patients, and provide newborn care
  • Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
  • Document care accurately in Epic and maintain quality charting standards
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV, respiratory, radiology, social services, pharmacy) to coordinate patient care
  • Provide patient and family education on newborn care, breastfeeding, and discharge instructions
  • Participate in rapid response and code teams as needed
  • Float to other units or affiliate hospitals based on skill set and facility needs
