Job Details
- Position: Travel Medical Physicist / Radiation Oncology Physicist
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $4,420 - $4,750
- Location: Atlanta, GA 30342 (Cancer Center) — Atlanta medical physicist opportunity
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
- Shift: 8-hour days, Monday–Friday (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
- Employment Type: Travel, On-Site
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Physicist in a hospital or cancer center setting (radiation oncology experience preferred)
- Medical Physicist certification required (e.g., ABR or equivalent)
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Ability to work on-site in Atlanta, GA (no local candidates within 50 miles)
Responsibilities
- Provide medical physics support for radiation oncology and cancer treatment services as a therapeutic medical physicist
- Ensure accurate calibration, commissioning, and maintenance of radiation therapy equipment (e.g., linear accelerators) to support safe patient care
- Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, and radiation therapists to optimize treatment planning and clinical workflows
- Perform routine and specialized quality assurance checks, safety audits, and equipment performance evaluations
- Contribute to treatment planning review, patient-specific QA, and implementation of clinical protocols for cancer patients
