Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,500 - $2,630
- Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (Rochester, NY travel nursing / New York nursing jobs)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8am–8pm
- Shifts: 5 x 8-hour shifts or 4 x 10-hour shifts per week
- On Call: Required for overnights and weekends
- Employment Type: Travel (Travel Nurse / Travel Nursing)
Endoscopy RN Requirements (Gastroenterology Nurse Qualifications)
- Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association only)
- ACLS Certification (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of endoscopy procedure experience (endoscopy nurse / GI procedure experience)
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm identification
- Expertise in conscious sedation, medication administration, and IV insertion
- Experience recovering patients from general anesthesia and post-anesthesia care
- Experience performing intake and pre-procedure assessments for GI procedures
Endoscopy RN Responsibilities / GI Nursing Duties
- Provide patient education, answer questions, and address concerns before, during, and after endoscopy procedures
- Monitor patient vital signs and telemetry during endoscopic procedures
- Administer conscious sedation and necessary medications per protocol (sedation nurse duties)
- Recover patients post-procedure and manage recovery from general anesthesia (post-anesthesia care)
- Document all patient encounters, procedure notes, and discharge instructions accurately and timely
- Prepare, clean, and sterilize endoscopy instruments and equipment following facility and infection-control protocols
- Assist gastroenterologists and proceduralists throughout endoscopy procedures
- Establish and maintain IV access, administer IV drips, and complete GI procedure intake assessments
