Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – acute care opportunity in Cumming, GA (30041). 13-week travel assignment, 40 hours/week, competitive weekly pay. Join a dynamic hospital SLP team near Lake Lanier and the Atlanta metro area.

Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 – $1,690 (travel SLP pay)
  • Location: On-site in Cumming, GA (zip 30041) — near Lake Lanier and the Atlanta metro area
  • Setting: Acute Care Hospital (hospital SLP / acute care speech therapy)
  • Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
  • Shift: 8-hour days, Monday–Friday (8:00am–4:30pm)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Weekend Coverage: Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks (preferred 4 weekends per 4 weeks)

Job Requirements (Qualifications)

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist in acute care / hospital settings (travel SLP experience a plus)
  • Active Georgia SLP license in good standing
  • ASHA CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence)
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Experience treating dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, and ICU/ventilator patients preferred
  • MBSS/FEES (MBSS or FEES) proficiency is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech-language pathology services to acute care patients throughout the hospital per physician orders
  • Assess and treat dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, speech/language impairments, and communication needs for medical and surgical diagnoses
  • Manage care for ICU patients, stroke/neurological cases, patients with respiratory compromise, and those on mechanical ventilation
  • Perform bedside swallow evaluations and participate in instrumental assessments when credentialed (MBSS/FEES)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nurses, PT/OT, case management) to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Document patient progress, maintain accurate EMR records, and ensure timely charting in accordance with hospital policies
  • Participate in weekend coverage as scheduled and support continuity of care for acute patients
