Hospital Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – 13-week travel assignment in Canton, GA. Join a dynamic acute care team as a travel SLP (hospital SLP/acute care SLP) and use your ASHA CCC-SLP credentials and 2+ years of clinical experience to support ICU, stroke, neurological, respiratory, dysphagia, and cognitive-communication patients. Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,580 - $1,690
  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Travel SLP / Travel Speech-Language Pathologist)
  • Setting: Acute Care Hospital — hospital SLP role supporting inpatient care
  • Shift: 8-hour days (8:00am – 4:30pm), 5 shifts per week
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Weekend Requirement: Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks (preferred 4 weekends per 4 weeks)
  • Location: Canton, GA 30115 — North Georgia community with convenient Atlanta access (Georgia SLP jobs / Canton SLP)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Speech-Language Pathology; acute care or hospital SLP experience highly preferred
  • Active Georgia SLP license required
  • ASHA CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence) required
  • AHA BLS certification required
  • MBS and/or FEES proficiency a strong plus (Modified Barium Swallow / FEES experience desirable)
  • Comfortable managing a caseload that includes ICU, stroke, neurological, dysphagia, respiratory compromise, and cognitive-communication cases
  • No local candidates within 50 miles for this travel assignment (travel SLP candidates preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide evaluation and treatment services across the acute care hospital based on physician orders, including dysphagia management and cognitive-communication interventions
  • Support a broad range of diagnoses: ICU, stroke/recovery, neurological disorders, respiratory compromise, and post-surgical patients
  • Perform bedside swallow evaluations, instrumental assessments (when trained), and make recommendations for diet modifications, therapeutic interventions, and safe discharge plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, nursing, PT/OT, respiratory therapy, case management) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Document accurately and timely in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), track patient progress, and provide clear handoffs for continuity of care
  • Participate in weekend coverage as scheduled and maintain professional communication with unit staff
