Join the dedicated Respiratory Services team at a leading hospital in Asheville, North Carolina. This travel respiratory therapist (travel RT) role offers hands-on hospital respiratory therapy experience in a busy clinical setting near downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,730 – $1,860
- Location: Asheville, NC (zip code 28801)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel, On-site hospital respiratory therapist position
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Key Qualifications (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- Minimum 1 year of recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital setting or critical care unit
- Active North Carolina Respiratory License required
- RRT credential (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; NRP certification preferred
- Ability and willingness to float to all critical care units and floors as needed (ICU, med-surg, ED, NICU/Peds coverage)
- Cerner EMR documentation experience preferred
Primary Responsibilities (Respiratory Therapy Jobs)
- Provide comprehensive respiratory care for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across multiple service lines
- Operate and manage advanced respiratory equipment, including GE R860 adult ventilators, Draeger infant/pediatric ventilators, Newport HT70 transport ventilator, V60 non-invasive device, Vapotherm, and Comfort Flow high-flow oxygen systems
- Perform a full range of respiratory therapy procedures and interventions typical in a hospital/critical care environment
- Document patient care and assessments accurately in Cerner EMR
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the multidisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and dress code (Medium Gray/Pewter scrubs)
