- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Dates: 5/4/2026 or 5/18/2026 (Orientation every other Monday)
- Shift: 12-hour nights — night shift Travel RN opportunity
- Hours per Week: 36

- Unit: LAC Resource Team (IMU/IMCU - D27)
- Charge Responsibility: Required (training and pay differential provided)

Job Requirements (Cardiac Stepdown RN / Travel RN)
- Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience; prior travel nursing experience required
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required upon start
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Complete skills checklist and detailed work history (explain gaps over 90 days)
- Clinical comfort with med-surg, telemetry, cardiac IMCU, neuro, and CVA patient populations
- Experience with Cerner EMR preferred
- Ability to support and mentor students and new hires in a teaching hospital environment
- All requested time off must be submitted with application
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Cardiac Stepdown/IMCU unit (Telemetry RN responsibilities)
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned, including leadership, coordination of care, and shift management
- Monitor and manage patients with cardiac, neuro, and med-surg conditions using telemetry and advanced monitoring
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Mentor students and new hires; contribute to a supportive, teaching-focused culture
- Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and quality standards
