Join a collaborative and dynamic healthcare team in Tuscaloosa, Alabama (35401), as a Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN). This 13-week travel nursing contract is based in a 36-bed pulmonary med/surg telemetry unit where you will deliver specialized care to patients with respiratory disorders. • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940
• Location: Tuscaloosa, Alabama (35401) — Tuscaloosa nursing jobs / Alabama healthcare
• Setting: Pulmonary Med/Surg Telemetry Unit (36 beds)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 7/26/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00–07:00), every other weekend, holidays as required
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 accepted (36 guaranteed)
• Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs
• Parking: Available
• EMR: Meditech (experience with Meditech preferred)
• Travel Position: Travel RN role; must be willing to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required (pulmonary/telemetry focus preferred)
• 18 months of overall RN experience preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact State required (No temporary licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification (or Red Cross equivalent) required
• Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals to support patient care

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality med/surg and telemetry nursing care to patients with a range of pulmonary conditions and respiratory disorders
• Monitor cardiac and respiratory telemetry, assess and respond to changes in patient status
• Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and prioritize safe, effective patient care
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy, physical therapy, care management, and pharmacy to coordinate comprehensive care
• Use clinical judgment in medical management of respiratory patients and apply general medicine and respiratory nursing skills
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in Meditech EMR
• Float to other units and hospitals as needed to meet staffing and patient care needs
