Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist (hospital or inpatient acute care experience preferred)
• Valid, current state Occupational Therapist (OT) license — eligible for Tennessee licensure required for on-site care
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Previous inpatient acute care experience required (acute care OT, discharge planning, clinical documentation)
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, develop, and administer OT treatment in accordance with federal, state, and local standards for hospital and acute care settings
• Assess patients' level of functioning and implement individualized treatment plans to support ADLs, mobility, and safety
• Participate in interdisciplinary team processes, rounds, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care
• Complete accurate clinical documentation and charting according to department policies and payer requirements
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs), OT and COTA students, and assist with new staff orientation
• Promote patient and employee safety, adhering to facility guidelines, infection control, and safety policies
• Demonstrate excellent customer service and collaborate with team members to provide superior patient-centered care
• Maintain flexibility in scheduling, manage caseload efficiently, and resolve conflicts cooperatively
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, performance improvement projects, and attend team conferences
• Ensure patient confidentiality (HIPAA) and instill confidence in patients, families, and team members
