Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2470 - $2600 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Location: Kealakekua, HI (96750) — Big Island travel nurse opportunity / Hawaii nursing jobs
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Type: Travel Contract (Mother-Baby RN / Labor & Delivery RN)
• Number of Positions: 2 openings

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
• Current Hawaii RN license (must be active prior to start)
• Intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring (NST/EFM) skills required
• Couplet care experience in Mother/Baby, Nursery, Obstetrics, Postpartum, or LDRP units
• Ability to float to assist other departments as needed (not as primary nurse)
• Ideal candidates: Maternal-newborn nurses, perinatal RNs, postpartum nurses, and neonatal-capable RNs

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive maternal-newborn care across labor, delivery, nursery, and postpartum units
• Manage an average of 45–50 deliveries per month in a rural hospital setting
• Perform intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring and interpret tracings accurately
• Deliver couplet care to ensure the safety and well-being of both mother and newborn
• May be assigned charge nurse duties (additional compensation applies)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including OB/GYN, neonatology, and ancillary services; float to assist other departments as needed
