Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible to practice in Indiana
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience in acute care, LTAC, step-down, or ICU (2 years highly desired)
• Hands-on experience with ventilator management, IV/med administration, wound care, and critical drip medications preferred
• Strong assessment, documentation, and interdisciplinary communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care following individualized nursing care plans in a Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) environment
• Perform systematic head-to-toe assessments and monitor changes in patient condition, including ventilator-dependent patients
• Administer medications and IV therapies, including critical drips after competency verification
• Provide wound care, trach/vent management, suctioning, and other specialized LTAC skills
• Supervise and delegate to LPNs, CNAs, and orientees; provide direction and leadership to assigned personnel
• Document assessments, interventions, discharge planning, and patient education accurately and timely
• Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary team to plan and evaluate rehabilitation and discharge goals
• Teach and counsel patients and families; make referrals as needed
• Maintain safety, infection control, and hospital policy adherence; initiate CPR and respond to emergencies when necessary
• Engage in quality improvement activities and maintain competencies in nursing and LTAC-specific skills
