Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,600 – $1,710
• Location: Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783 — Northern Michigan / Sault Ste. Marie respiratory therapist job
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
• Shift: IDEAL SCHEDULE: Three 12-hour shifts weekly, 36 Hour Guarantee, 4-week repeating schedule: Every Monday and Tuesday: 5:30am - 6:00pm (12-Hour Days); (2) Wednesdays per month 5:30pm - 6:00am (12-Hour Night Shift); (1) Saturday/Sunday weekend shift 5:30am - 6:00pm (12-Hour Days). Alternatively, every Monday and Tuesday: 5:30am - 6:00pm (12-Hour Days); every Wednesday: 5:30pm - 6:00am (12-Hour Night Shift).

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — hospital experience preferred
• Active RRT certification through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Active Michigan Respiratory Therapist license
• American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current skills checklist within 1 year (pertinent to Respiratory Therapy)
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
• Previous travel work experience preferred; permanent address must be outside a 100-mile radius of Sault Ste. Marie

Key Responsibilities

• Administer medications and perform therapeutic modalities and diagnostic testing for the cardio-pulmonary system, independently or in collaboration with physicians
• Manage ventilators and artificial airways; maintain oxygen therapy according to hospital protocol
• Respond to Rapid Response, arrest, and emergency situations—provide CPR, life support, and maintain respiration and cardiac compressions
• Deliver aerosolized medications and metered-dose inhaler therapy
• Perform respiratory care to evaluate and treat patients per protocol and physician orders
• Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and oxygen delivery systems
