Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) — 13-week travel contract in Des Moines, IA. Night shift, competitive weekly pay, and an opportunity to join a collaborative healthcare team caring for med/surg and telemetry patients in the heart of Iowa.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 – $2,080
• Location: Des Moines, Iowa (50316) — Des Moines nursing jobs, Iowa travel nursing
• Setting: Med/Surg 3E Unit (Med/Surg Telemetry)
• Contract: 13-week travel contract (option to extend)
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hrs/week)
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Required
• Floating: May float to other campuses as needed

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg or Med/Surg Tele/Telemetry nursing experience
• Active Iowa RN license or multistate/compact RN license
• BLS (AHA or ARC)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Completed Med/Surg / Med Surg Tele skills checklist
• Professional reference from charge/supervisor/manager within the last 24 months (preferred)
• Valid Driver's License
• First-time travel nurses welcome — ideal for new travel nurse opportunities

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to med/surg and telemetry patients, including post-op surgical hips/knees
• Continuously monitor telemetry and communicate changes via tele tech unit
• Maintain patient assignments with typical ratios of 4–5:1 in a 24-bed unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to other campuses as staffing needs require
• Participate in holiday rotations and work every 3rd weekend as scheduled
• Adhere to hospital policies and procedures, including dress code (navy blue scrubs)
