Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 – $2,110 (travel nurse weekly pay)
- Location: Easton, MD (zip 21601) — Eastern Shore, Maryland nursing jobs
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Shift: 12-hour rotating night/evening shifts (primary need: night shift); standard schedule is 3 shifts per week (3x12-hour shifts)
- Night: 3x12-hour (19:00 – 07:30)
- Evening: 3x12-hour (15:00 – 03:30)
- 36 hours per week
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- Unit: Emergency Room / Emergency Department (ED RN)
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required
- Holiday Coverage: As scheduled
- Floating: Required within ED specialty and to sister facilities (Cambridge, Chestertown, Queenstown)
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent Emergency Room RN / Emergency Department RN experience
- Previous charge experience required
- Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA only), CPI, NIHSS — CPI can be completed during onboarding
- NRP or AAP certification preferred
- Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience required
- Community hospital Emergency Department experience required
- Comfortable floating within ED specialty and to sister facilities
- Two satisfactory professional references from most recent employers (1 supervisor/manager and 1 charge RN)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- Local residency requirement: locals must reside at least 50 miles from facility
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages in a busy Emergency Department (ER RN duties)
- Manage patient ratios of 1:4 (up to 1:5 with lower acuity)
- Assess, triage, and treat patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including complex and multisystem conditions
- Perform and monitor emergency procedures: STEMI protocols, stroke activation, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, EKG/ECG, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, IV management, procedural sedation, and emergency medication administration
- Care for ventilated patients, manage BiPAP/CPAP, interpret ABGs, and assist with intubation as needed
- Apply isolation precautions/PPE and manage psychiatric emergencies (violent behavior, psychiatric hold, suicidal patients)
- Float as needed within the ED specialty and to sister facilities (Cambridge, Chestertown, Queenstown)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, physical therapy, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretaries
