Travel Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) – Sioux City, IA. 13-week travel RN assignment seeking Oncology/Med?Surg RN with 2+ years' experience and current Iowa RN license.
Job Details
- Position: Travel Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) / Oncology Nurse / Med?Surg RN
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Location: Sioux City, Iowa (zip 51104) — Iowa nursing jobs, Sioux City healthcare
- Unit: 4A Surgical/Oncology
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 36 hours per week
- Employment Type: Travel RN, On-Site (travel nursing job)
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend; holiday rotation as scheduled
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of Med?Surg and/or Oncology RN experience required (oncology nursing, high acuity preferred)
- Current Iowa RN license required
- ACLS (AHA), BLS, and NIHSS certifications required (NIHSS may be obtained during onboarding)
- Experience administering IV drips: heparin, PCA, epidural required; chemotherapy administration experience preferred and chemo certification encouraged (Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certified RN)
- High acuity care and EPIC EMR experience preferred (EPIC proficiency a plus)
- Travel nursing experience preferred; must have a taxable address outside 50 miles from facility
- Submission requirements: driver’s license, current resume/work history, skills checklist (completed within 1 year), license verification, copies of required certifications, and one supervisory reference
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to oncology and surgical patients as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications and IV drips safely (heparin, PCA, epidural); administer chemotherapy if certified
- Monitor patient status, identify changes in condition, and intervene appropriately
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
- Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC EMR and maintain compliance with hospital policies
- Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
