• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,090 – $2,200

• Contract Duration: 10 weeks
• Hours per Week: 36
• Shifts per Week: 3 (12-hour shifts)
• Shift: Every other weekend and holiday required
• On-Site Position
• Setting: Cardiac Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — telemetry and post-op cardiac care

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of true Stepdown / PCU experience (Cardiac Stepdown RN required; M/S tele not accepted)
• Active RN license in New Jersey or a compact state (NJ nursing license preferred)
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA only)
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and acute cardiac interventions
• Willingness to float to ED Hold and other specialty units as needed
• Ability to complete orientation as scheduled (no rescheduling permitted)
• Scrub color: Navy
• Experience with Cerner charting preferred
• Physical requirements: Frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, sitting, walking, carrying, pushing, reaching; occasional climbing, kneeling, crouching; constant hearing, talking, vision
• Maximum of 3 days requested time off (RTO)

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on the Cardiac Stepdown unit (PCU/telemetry)
• Monitor and assess cardiac patients, interpret telemetry, and respond promptly to clinical changes
• Administer cardiac medications, titrate drips per protocol, and manage post-op cardiac patients
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiology, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Float to ED Hold and other specialty units within scope as required
• Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner and adhere to facility protocols
• Participate in unit-based orientation, required classes, and ongoing competency updates
