Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 – $2,040
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210 — Columbus healthcare / Ohio nursing jobs
- Setting: Hematology Oncology – Medical-Surgical Unit (oncology nursing, infusion nursing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Employment Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN
- Orientation: Comprehensive orientation with dayshift and on-unit preceptor support
Job Requirements (Qualifications)
- Minimum 1 year of current Med/Surg experience within the last 3 years (required)
- Hematology/Oncology experience preferred (oncology RN, chemotherapy administration, infusion experience)
- Valid RN license — compact license accepted or Ohio RN license required at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Graduate of an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- ONS (Oncology Nursing Society) certification preferred
- Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) preferred
- Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients with hematologic and oncologic diagnoses (lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma, sickle cell disease, solid tumors)
- Administer chemotherapy, biologics, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, insulin and heparin drips (chemotherapy administration, infusion nursing)
- Respond to oncologic emergencies including tumor lysis syndrome and cytokine release syndrome
- Monitor telemetry and recognize/interpret dysrhythmias
- Manage central and peripheral lines, PICC lines, and feeding tubes
- Adhere to infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention initiatives
- Float to other Med/Surg and Oncology units as needed (flexible travel nurse assignments)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams: PT, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, rapid response teams
- Self-schedule requests accommodated prior to final schedule posting
