Job Requirements (Cath Lab Nurse / Registered Nurse)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Cath Lab RN experience — Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab required (cardiac catheterization, PCI experience preferred)
- Active Illinois RN license in hand
- ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA or Red Cross only)
- Cerner charting experience required
- Ability to float within hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed (float pool flexibility)
- Willingness to work 2–3 weekends per contract and 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Key Responsibilities (Cath Lab / Interventional Cardiology Nurse)
- Circulate and assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures for adult patients
- Perform left and right heart catheterizations and pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) monitoring
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and manage patient recovery
- Interpret and manage dysrhythmias during procedures and collaborate with rapid response teams
- Continuously monitor patient status throughout procedures and document care in Cerner
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary staff including cardiologists, technologists, and anesthesia
- Float to other units within scope as needed to meet facility needs
- Participate in orientation and complete required modules by deadlines
