This 13-week travel healthcare job places you at a Magnet-designated academic hospital and Level I Trauma Center where you'll expand perioperative skills and work with advanced robotics and complex cases while enjoying the Lowcountry lifestyle.
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,240 – $1,330
- Location: Charleston, SC 29425 — Charleston, South Carolina travel job; enjoy waterfronts, dining, and local history in the Lowcountry
- Facility: Level I Trauma Center • Teaching Facility • Magnet Hospital
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
- Shift: 4x10-hour day shifts (06:30 AM – 5:00 PM), holiday rotation
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekend Requirement: One weekend shift per month
- On-Call: Up to 4 call shifts every 4 weeks
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Parking: Garage parking available — one-time $20 registration fee
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Surgical Technologist / Surgical Tech in an acute care hospital or operating room (OR)
- NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required — NCCT not accepted
- BLS (American Heart Association) required
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency)
- Experience with Neuro (spine/crani), ENT (flaps), and Robotic surgery (DaVinci Xi) highly preferred
- Comfortable floating within scope to meet facility needs and between like units/sister facilities
- First-time travelers accepted — travel surgical tech placements welcome
Responsibilities
- Scrub and assist as an OR Tech / Surgical Tech in a wide variety of procedures: Ortho (total joints, spine, trauma), Neuro (crani, spine), ENT (flaps), Robotics, Transplants/Procurements, Trauma/Burns, GU/GYN
- Maintain sterile technique and adhere to perioperative safety protocols to ensure patient safety in the operating room
- Prepare instruments, equipment, and the sterile field for complex cases including robotic-assisted procedures
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, perioperative nurses, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams in a busy, nurse-driven department
- Participate in holiday and weekend rotations and respond to on-call assignments as needed
- Float to other units as required to support facility operations and ensure consistent patient care
- Complete orientation and mandatory modules prior to start
