Job Requirements (Registered Nurse / Travel RN)
- Minimum 2 years of bedside critical care clinical experience (ICU, step-down, telemetry preferred)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — compact or Iowa RN license required per facility
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required prior to first shift
- ACLS certification required prior to first shift
- Travel nursing experience and LTAC/rehabilitation nursing experience are a plus
Key Responsibilities (LTAC Nurse / RN)
- Provide direct patient care following individualized nursing care plans in a Long-Term Acute Care setting
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop/update care plans
- Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and coordinate multidisciplinary care for recovery
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees as assigned
- Initiate discharge planning and provide patient and family teaching from admission through discharge
- Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and safety
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested following orientation
- Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies and infection control protocols
- Engage in professional development and continuing education to maintain clinical competency
