• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
• Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 (Des Moines healthcare / Iowa nursing jobs)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience; LTAC, critical care, thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute, pediatric PACU, or pediatric OR experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state license as required for travel nursing)
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient rehabilitation skills
• Previous travel nursing experience or contract experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care in an LTAC setting by following and updating individualized nursing care plans
• Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop/implement individualized care plans
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees; provide training and direction
• Participate in multidisciplinary patient rehabilitation programs and direct patient care using the nursing process
• Identify patient and family teaching needs; initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
• Provide timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
• Communicate clinical changes in patient status to physicians and interdisciplinary care team members
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
• Engage in ongoing professional growth and continuing education to maintain clinical competence
• Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment
