- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,000 - $2,100
- Location: Des Moines, IA 50314 (Des Moines healthcare / Iowa nursing jobs)
- Setting: Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) — LTAC nurse role
- Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse Position
- Duration: 13 weeks

- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (3x12) — Night Shift RN

Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of bedside clinical experience; LTAC, critical care, thoracic surgery, surgical pathology, sub-acute, pediatric PACU, or pediatric OR experience preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state license as required for travel nursing)
- BLS Certification required prior to first shift
- ACLS Certification required prior to first shift
- Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient rehabilitation skills
- Previous travel nursing experience or contract experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality patient care in an LTAC setting by following and updating individualized nursing care plans
- Perform nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission and develop/implement individualized care plans
- Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees; provide training and direction
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient rehabilitation programs and direct patient care using the nursing process
- Identify patient and family teaching needs; initiate discharge planning and patient education from admission
- Provide timely, accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
- Communicate clinical changes in patient status to physicians and interdisciplinary care team members
- Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed after orientation
- Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and continuing education to maintain clinical competence
- Contribute positively to team building and a supportive work environment
