Med/Surg Tele RN – Travel RN opportunity in Springfield, VT. 13-week assignment; 2+ years Med/Surg Tele & PCU experience required. Join a small critical access hospital delivering patient-centered care in scenic southern Vermont (zip 05156).
Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,980 - $2,080 (competitive travel nursing pay)
- Location: Springfield, VT (zip 05156) — Vermont travel RN jobs / Vermont nursing jobs
- Setting: Adaptive Acuity Unit (IPCU) – Med/Surg Tele / Med Surg Telemetry
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/27/2026 – End: 7/27/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Hours: 36 hours/week guaranteed
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holidays as needed
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years Med/Surg Tele (med-surg/telemetry) experience
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience strongly required
- Drip experience required (Insulin, Esmolol, Sodium drips)
- Minimum 3 months previous travel RN experience (non-negotiable) — travel nursing jobs background preferred
- ICU experience strongly preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Small critical access facility experience preferred
- Active Vermont RN License or Compact License
- Active American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications
- Skills checklists for Med/Surg, Telemetry, and PCU (current to 1 year)
- One supervisory signed reference from the past two years
- Must have own vehicle; willingness to float to any inpatient unit within scope of practice
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care as a Med/Surg Telemetry RN in an adaptive acuity unit (IPCU)
- Manage assigned nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:5 for Med/Surg; 3:1 for PCU)
- Administer and carefully monitor drips (Insulin, Esmolol, Sodium) with accurate documentation
- Float to other inpatient units as needed and work collaboratively across departments
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to deliver patient-centered care
- Maintain timely, accurate charting and uphold facility standards and policies
- Participate in charge nurse duties if qualified and support unit operations
