Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 – $2,600 (competitive for CVICU travel nurse)
• Location: Boston, MA 02215 — Longwood Medical Area (Boston healthcare hub)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 25, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts (days or nights; specifics discussed during interview)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Type: Travel Nurse / Travel RN Contract (CVICU travel nurse)
• Orientation: Weekly (every Monday, barring holidays)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year recent CVICU or CCU experience with strong cardiac background (surgical or medical) — critical care nurse or cardiac ICU nurse experience required
• Proven expertise with PA lines and transvenous pacing
• Preferred experience with mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella) and other cardiac assist devices
• Active Massachusetts RN license required at time of submission
• ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA); current CPR certification (AHA)
• Ability to float between CCU and CVICU as needed (flexible cardiac critical care staffing)
• Travel nurse requirement: must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert care to critically ill cardiovascular patients in the CVICU and CCU as a Cardiac ICU RN
• Manage PA lines, transvenous pacing, and mechanical circulatory support devices (IABP, Impella)
• Monitor and assess patient status, administer medications, titrate drips, and document care accurately in the medical record
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (cardiothoracic surgery, cardiology, respiratory therapy) to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in unit orientation, precepting, and ongoing professional development in cardiac critical care
