- Shift: 5x8-hour evening shifts (15:00 - 23:30), rotating weekends and holidays as needed

Summary / Hook
Seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) for a hospital sterile processing role in Washington, DC. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of SPD experience, IAHCSMM or HSPA certification, prior travel assignment experience, and endoscope reprocessing skills.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) in decontamination, disinfection, case cart/tray assembly, and equipment documentation
- IAHCSMM or HSPA Certification required
- DC license in hand required (valid District of Columbia sterile processing credential)
- At least 1 prior travel assignment (preferred for travel healthcare jobs)
- Experience processing specialty equipment across multiple surgical specialties (Bariatric, Cardiac, Dental, ENT, Laparoscopic, Neurology, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Plastics, Podiatry, Robotics, Transplant, Urology, Vascular)
- Experience in an acute care hospital preferred, including aseptic technique and cleaning/maintaining crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps
- Experience with endoscopes, scope/probe reprocessing, and flexible endoscope reprocessing preferred
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination and disinfection of surgical instruments and equipment following SPD best practices
- Assemble and organize surgical trays according to preference cards and proper labeling procedures
- Ensure correct selection and use of sterilization wrapping materials and sterilizer loading procedures
- Process specialty surgical equipment for a wide range of clinical services and maintain high standards for instrument care
- Document equipment and maintain Sterile Processing Microsystem (SPM) and other SPD records accurately
- Utilize aseptic technique and clean/maintain equipment such as crash carts, IV pumps, and PCA pumps
- Reprocess endoscopes and probes, including flexible endoscopes, adhering to scope reprocessing protocols
- Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage as needed for hospital sterile processing support
