Job Details — Travel Nursing Role
- Position: Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN), L&D/Perinatal
- Location: Midland, TX 79701 — Midland, Texas nursing jobs / West Texas
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 – $2,370
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks
- Start Date: April 27, 2026
- Shift: Days — 3x12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00), 36 hours/week
- Unit: Labor & Delivery (Unit 6194) — obstetrics / perinatal unit
- Employment Type: Travel, On-site; local candidates within 50 miles not accepted
Qualifications — Labor & Delivery RN Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse experience — perinatal and obstetric nursing
- Previous Charge Nurse experience required
- Active Registered Nurse license accepted (pending license considered; must be active before start)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, NIHSS
- AWHONN Advanced and Intermediate, and FHM preferred
- Cerner or similar electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
- Return-to-Office (RTO) documentation required with submission; expect some holiday coverage
Core Responsibilities — L&D Nurse / Obstetric RN
- Rotate through triage, antepartum, labor, circulate, and transition (no postpartum assignment)
- Provide hands-on care for high-risk deliveries, vaginal births, and Cesarean sections
- Perform sterile speculum exams, non-stress tests (NSTs), and external/internal fetal monitoring
- Administer medications including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, antihypertensives, and blood products
- Support breastfeeding/lactation initiation and newborn care (APGAR scoring, radiant warmers, infant ID)
- Manage IV therapy, infusion pumps, and venous blood draws
- Assess and manage pain, support epidural/general anesthesia care, and respond to postpartum hemorrhage
- Float to Antepartum as needed and maintain isolation precautions/PPE standards
