Travel OR Registered Nurse (RN) in Geneva, NY — 16-week contract. NYS RN license and 2+ years OR/circulator experience required. Join our perioperative team in the Finger Lakes.
Job Details
- Location: Geneva, NY 14456 (Finger Lakes) — travel nurse OR job, New York nursing jobs
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Contract Duration: 16 weeks
- Hours: Full-time, 4x9 hour shifts (36 hours/week), Monday-Friday
- Shift: 10 Hour Days (6:30/7:30am – 3:30/4:30pm)
- On-Call: 1 day OC/week (Mon-Thurs), plus 3 OC weekends every 4-6 weeks (Fri-Mon)
- Start Date: April 27, 2026
- End Date: July 25, 2026
- Setting: Level 3 Operating Room (OR); floating required to SSMH/GGH
Job Requirements (Qualifications)
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) Registered Nurse (RN) experience, including circulator experience — perioperative/surgical nurse preferred
- Active New York State (NYS) RN License
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA/RQI)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification
- Ability to float to other units (SSMH/GGH) as needed
- Experience in small community hospital settings and prior on-call experience preferred
Responsibilities (Perioperative/OR Duties)
- Circulate across service lines: Orthopedics, General Surgery, Urology, ENT (including pediatric cases), GI, Spine, Ophthalmology, and Podiatry
- Provide perioperative patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and coordinate interdisciplinary care
- Deliver direct patient care during pre-op, intra-op, and immediate post-op phases; evaluate progress and ensure safe handoffs
- Educate patients and families on post-operative self-care and recovery expectations
- Promote patient comfort, emotional support, and advocate for patient safety and rights
- Document nursing care, intraoperative events, education, and patient/family responses according to policy
- Participate in quality improvement, infection prevention strategies, and ongoing self-evaluation of nursing practice
