• Position: Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN) / Travel Nurse
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,660 - $1,750

Job Requirements (Qualifications)

• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience in a Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) setting — Med Surg RN experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (able to practice in Texas)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the Med/Surg unit using the nursing process in an acute care/hospital setting
• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide hands-on bedside nursing care
• Initiate discharge planning and provide patient teaching starting at admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity and patient safety
• Supervise and provide direction to ancillary nursing personnel and support staff
• Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff; follow hospital safety and infection control policies
• Contribute positively to team building, unit efficiency, and quality improvement initiatives
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed and engage in ongoing professional growth and development
