Travel Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Danville, VA • 13-week travel assignment • 12-hour night shifts. Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,750 - $1,840 (competitive pay for travel nurses)
• Location: Danville, VA 24541 — Danville, Virginia (River District, historic downtown)
• Facility: 250-bed Academic Community Hospital
• Unit: 24-bed Medical/Surgical (5A) — Med/Surg nursing
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 7, 2026 – June 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) — travel nurse night shift
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend / as needed
• Electronic Health Record: Meditech (experience with Meditech preferred)

Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience — strong Med/Surg clinical skills
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia (VA)
• BLS certification (required)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification (required)
• HWC certification available on-site
• Consent to random drug screening and completion of Criminal Questionnaire/Consent Form
• Professional demeanor; ability to care for all age groups and diverse patient populations
• Scrub color: Any (no casual wear)

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care on a busy Medical/Surgical unit
• Manage a typical patient ratio of 1:6 on a 24-bed Med/Surg unit
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to deliver coordinated care
• Float to other units as needed — flexible travel nurse assignment
• Accurate, timely documentation in Meditech EHR
• Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing professional development for travel nurses
• Adhere to facility policies, including screening and compliance requirements
