Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent RN experience in stepdown, med-surg, or cardiac units
• Active RN license in Hawaii (or must apply upon acceptance) — RN license Hawaii
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required; ACLS preferred
• Additional certifications a plus: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC
• Proof of immunity required (medical/religious exemptions not accepted)
• Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) and attendance at employee health appointment (arrive Thursday before start date)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients on Cardiac Stepdown, Med-Surg, and Step Down units
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and manage post-surgical and cardiac patients, including chest tubes and wound vacs
• Float between units as needed (Medical, Laulima, Cardiovascular) to support staffing needs
• Use Meditech EMR, Pyxis medication systems, and other unit-specific technology
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in unit orientation and ongoing training to maintain competence in stepdown care
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios as assigned (Medical: 1:8 nights, Laulima: 1:6, Cardiovascular: 1:4)
