Job Details
- Position: CVOR Registered Nurse (CVOR RN) / Cardiovascular Operating Room Nurse (Travel Nurse)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 – $2,600 (competitive travel nurse pay)
- Location: Columbia, South Carolina (zip 29203) — travel nurse opportunity in Columbia, SC
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (06:00 – 16:30)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Orientation: 30 hours (travel nurse orientation included)
- Weekend Coverage: Every 4th weekend
Qualifications & Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience, including open heart procedures – experienced cardiovascular OR nurse preferred
- Current RN compact/multistate license or South Carolina RN license (licensed to practice in SC)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR (documentation and perioperative workflows)
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
- Experience in a Trauma Level I setting preferred
- Willingness to float to qualified units as needed (within demonstrated competencies)
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative patient care in the cardiovascular operating room for adult and geriatric populations
- Assist with open heart surgeries, cardiothoracic procedures, and other complex cardiovascular operations
- Perform scrub and circulating duties; maintain sterile technique and surgical safety standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV therapy teams and radiology support
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC EMR
- Participate in block scheduling, weekend rotations, and required pre-assignment testing/modules
- Float to other units as requested and perform tasks within demonstrated competencies
