Travel ER / ED RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
• Location: Kirksville, Missouri (63501) — travel nursing job in Missouri
• Facility: Level III Trauma Center; ACC Chest Pain/STEMI Center; Joint Commission Acute Ready Stroke Center
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM), weekends required
• Hours per Week: 36
• Start Date: April 20, 2026

Travel Nurse Requirements / Qualifications

• At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience (ED RN / ER RN)
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required (Travel RN experience preferred)
• Active RN license (Missouri RN or Compact RN preferred)
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Ability to manage patients across ESI levels 1–5
• Strong triage, assessment, and critical thinking skills
• Willingness to float to other departments as needed

Emergency Room (ER) Responsibilities

• Provide direct care for stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis patients in a Level III Trauma Center
• Manage typical ED patient load (4–5:1 ratio), primarily ESI level 3
• Perform clinical skills: PIVs, US-guided IVs, NG/OG tube placement, foley catheter insertion, splinting, wound care
• Assist with advanced procedures including arterial lines, central lines, and chest tube placement as needed
• Mix and administer medication drips with vial-to-bag adapter on night shifts
• Complete EMTALA documentation and follow regulatory guidelines for patient care
• Board and coordinate disposition for behavioral health/psych patients in the ED
• Answer call lights, transport patients, and support unit flow during busy night shifts
• Float to other departments per facility rotation and assist as a collaborative team member
