Travel ER RN opportunity — 13-week contract at a Level III Trauma Center in Kirksville, Missouri with competitive weekly pay. Join a dedicated Emergency Department (ED) team as a Travel Nurse providing high-acuity care for patients of all ages in a fast-paced, collaborative setting.
Travel ER / ED RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130
- Location: Kirksville, Missouri (63501) — travel nursing job in Missouri
- Facility: Level III Trauma Center; ACC Chest Pain/STEMI Center; Joint Commission Acute Ready Stroke Center
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM), weekends required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Start Date: April 20, 2026
Travel Nurse Requirements / Qualifications
- At least 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience (ED RN / ER RN)
- Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required (Travel RN experience preferred)
- Active RN license (Missouri RN or Compact RN preferred)
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
- Ability to manage patients across ESI levels 1–5
- Strong triage, assessment, and critical thinking skills
- Willingness to float to other departments as needed
Emergency Room (ER) Responsibilities
- Provide direct care for stroke, STEMI, trauma, and sepsis patients in a Level III Trauma Center
- Manage typical ED patient load (4–5:1 ratio), primarily ESI level 3
- Perform clinical skills: PIVs, US-guided IVs, NG/OG tube placement, foley catheter insertion, splinting, wound care
- Assist with advanced procedures including arterial lines, central lines, and chest tube placement as needed
- Mix and administer medication drips with vial-to-bag adapter on night shifts
- Complete EMTALA documentation and follow regulatory guidelines for patient care
- Board and coordinate disposition for behavioral health/psych patients in the ED
- Answer call lights, transport patients, and support unit flow during busy night shifts
- Float to other departments per facility rotation and assist as a collaborative team member
