Travel Psychiatric RN – Fort Worth, TX (76123). 13-week travel contract, 12-hour night shifts, BLS required. Weekly pay $1,620–$1,700. Join our behavioral health travel nursing team caring for adults and adolescents in a modern 72-bed Behavioral Health Division.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,620 - $1,700
• Location: Fort Worth, TX 76123 (Fort Worth, Texas travel nursing opportunity)
• Setting: Behavioral Health Division – 72-bed behavioral health unit (adult & adolescent)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 20, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) — night shift psychiatric nurse
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Weekend Hours: 12-24 available
• Dress Code: Royal Blue or Navy Blue scrubs, closed toe shoes

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active RN license (Psychiatric RN or Registered Nurse)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association required)
• CPI or HWC certification (crisis prevention/de-escalation)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in nursing (ADN or BSN)
• Minimum 1 year of psychiatric nursing or behavioral health experience preferred
• Strong medication administration skills and experience with mental health nursing
• Ability to pass background check
• Team-oriented with excellent de-escalation, crisis intervention, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate psychiatric nursing care to adults and adolescents with diagnoses such as psychosis, mood disorders, and substance detox
• Perform mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and patient monitoring on the behavioral health unit
• Administer medications and monitor patient vitals using equipment including Code Cart, Pyxis, EKG, vitals monitor, and glucometer
• Document care and clinical notes using Cerner EHR (electronic health record)
• Maintain patient ratios of approximately 1:12 while prioritizing safety and therapeutic care
• Collaborate with Shift House Supervisor, CNO, interdisciplinary team, and support staff
• Foster a safe, supportive environment for voluntary and involuntary patients, including military veterans and first responders
• Demonstrate flexibility, professionalism, and kindness in a fast-paced behavioral health setting
