• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse, Night Shift
• Location: Johnson City, NY 13790 (Southern Tier, New York)
• Setting: Med/Surg Surgical Stepdown (MT4) – surgical step-down / critical care nursing
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (36 hours/week)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360 - $2,480
• Employment Type: Travel nursing assignment

Required Qualifications – Med/Surg RN / Travel Nurse

• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg or ICU nursing experience; experience with critical care/ICU level patients required
• Experience managing ventilators and vasoactive/sedative drips (critical care nursing skills)
• ICU skills checklist required
• Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing
• Current New York State (NYS) RN license
• BLS certification (AHA, HSI, or American Red Cross)
• ACLS and NIHSS (Apex Innovations) certifications required
• Epic EMR experience preferred (electronic medical record experience)
• Strong communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills for high-acuity nursing

Primary Responsibilities – Surgical Stepdown / Critical Care Nursing

• Assess, plan, delegate, coordinate, implement, and evaluate nursing care for a group of patients in a surgical stepdown unit
• Serve as primary nurse and/or accountable nurse as designated by unit assignment
• Safely administer medications, titrate vasoactive and sedative drips, and monitor patient responses
• Manage ventilators and apply advanced critical care interventions when required
• Provide patient and family education on health promotion, disease management, and discharge planning
• Comply with nursing practice standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements
• Participate in unit council, quality improvement initiatives, and peer review practices
• Engage in professional development, continuing education, and precepting of new staff and nursing students
