Travel L&D Registered Nurse opportunity in Rockford, IL – 13-week travel contract for experienced Labor & Delivery RNs with high-risk OB experience. Join a dedicated maternal-newborn team in a Level 1 Trauma Center and make an impact in patient-centered care.

Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 – $2,130 (Travel Nurse pay)
- Location: Rockford, IL (61114) — Rockford nursing jobs / Illinois travel nurse
- Setting: Level 1 Trauma Center
- Unit: Postpartum, Antepartum, Lactation, Labor & Delivery (L&D RN, Postpartum RN, Antepartum RN)
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse
- Number of Positions: 2
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of high-risk labor & delivery experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center (high-risk L&D, OB/GYN nursing, maternal-newborn care)
- Current Illinois RN license
- CPR, ACLS, and NRP certifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (education verification required)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive maternal and newborn nursing care using the nursing process and evidence-based practice
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary OB/GYN team to manage labor, delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and lactation care
- Administer medications and treatments per hospital policies, standards of care, and State Nurse Practice Act
- Document patient care accurately in the medical record according to facility and regulatory standards (EMR documentation)
- Develop and implement individualized patient plans of care and provide patient and family education focused on safety and positive outcomes
- Participate in unit performance improvement, shared governance, and clinical practice initiatives
- Provide clinical expertise across units as needed and escalate patient safety concerns using critical thinking and clinical judgment
