Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,470 – $2,600
• Location: Field-based in Milwaukee territory with orientation at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, Wauwatosa, WI
• Employment Type: Travel Contract — Homecare RN / Hospice RN
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 4/27/2026 – End: 7/25/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour Day Shifts (8am–8pm) — every Saturday and Sunday
• Hours per Week: 24

Qualifications and Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (Aurora Zilber Family Hospice accepts 1 year; other locations may require 2 years)
• Active RN license in Wisconsin — Wisconsin RN jobs and Milwaukee hospice jobs candidates preferred
• BLS certification required
• Clinical skills: IV therapy, chest tube maintenance/pleurex drain, catheter insertion, tube feedings
• Wound care and wound vac experience; competency with triage and symptom management
• Strong competency in end-of-life care and palliative care, including pain and symptom management and use of opioids with equianalgesic calculations
• Proficient in EMR documentation, preferably EPIC
• Excellent independent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills for field nursing
• Flexible and comfortable working in homes, assisted living, group homes, nursing homes, and hospital settings

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily hospice home visits, PRN visits for symptom management, and occasional routine visits as a hospice RN
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered end-of-life and palliative care in homecare and community settings
• Administer medications, manage IVs and injections, and perform clinical procedures per scope
• Document accurate and timely patient care in EPIC EMR to support continuity of care
• Collaborate with hospice physicians, interdisciplinary team members, and family caregivers to develop and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families on symptom management, end-of-life options, and medication safety
• Adapt to variable field conditions and maintain professional, compassionate presence across diverse community locations
