Travel Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) — 13-week contract in Spokane, WA at a Level II Trauma Center. Neurosurgical experience required.
Join a dynamic surgical team in Spokane, Washington as a Travel OR RN. This travel nursing opportunity places you in a renowned Short Term Acute Care facility and Level II Trauma Center / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospital. You will provide perioperative nursing for neurosurgical procedures, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and gain valuable experience in a high-acuity environment while enjoying the outdoor recreation and vibrant community of the Pacific Northwest.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,400 - $2,520

- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
- Shift: Day shift, 5x8-hour (06:45 - 14:45)
- Hours per Week: 40
- On-call: Required (1x/week, 1 weekend per 6-week schedule)
- Float: May float between main OR units and outpatient surgical centers as needed
- Parking: Free
- Charting / EHR: Epic
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year recent Operating Room RN experience with neurosurgical cases (craniotomies and complex spine required)
- Valid Washington RN license or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) license (required at time of submission)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- CNOR certification preferred
- Experience charting in Epic (EHR) preferred
- Trauma Level II experience preferred
- Ability to float between units and outpatient surgical centers
- Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last three years
Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing general, orthopedic, neuro, ENT, plastics, pediatric, robotics, and transplant surgeries
- Demonstrate clinical proficiency in neurosurgical procedures, including craniotomies and complex spine cases
- Maintain a 1:1 patient ratio in the main OR as required
- Float to other services within the main OR and outpatient surgical centers as needed
- Participate in assigned on-call rotation for the OR RN travel team
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and more
- Ensure accurate specimen handling, labeling, and chain-of-custody procedures
- Adhere to universal protocols, safety standards, and perioperative best practices
