Sterile Processing Technician (SPD Tech) – Night shift travel contract in Olympia, WA. • Charting / EMR: EPIC
• Travel Contract: Travel sterile processing assignment — local travelers within 50 miles are not eligible

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of sterile processing experience in a hospital or surgical services setting (2 years preferred)
• Required certification: CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM)
• Experience with charting systems or EMR (EPIC experience is a plus)

• Ability to complete required pre-start and annual competency modules

Sterile Processing Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, wrapping, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment (crash carts, IV pumps, PCA pumps)
• Assemble sterile sets/trays and verify correct instrument selection for surgical specialties
• Operate and maintain washers, sterilizers, and high-level disinfection (HLD) equipment
• Monitor and document biological and chemical indicators, steam sterilization testing, and immediate-use steam sterilization (IUSS)
• Support surgical services across specialties including ENT, General, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Plastics, and Urology
• Maintain accurate equipment documentation, follow sterilization procedures, and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory standards
