Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,710 - $1,800
- Location: Wilmington, NC (28401) – Wilmington, North Carolina nursing jobs
- Job Type: Travel nurse assignment / Travel RN
- Contract Length: 13 to 26 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour Nights (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week (3 shifts per week)
- Unit: Cardiac Medical Telemetry (Telemetry RN / Cardiac Stepdown)
- Patient Ratio: 1:6-7
- Weekend Requirement: 5-6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend)
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Floating: Required as needed; potential to float every shift
Job Requirements (Telemetry RN / Travel RN)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Telemetry and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience (Telemetry nurse / Cardiac stepdown nurse)
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Strong experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring (telemetry monitoring competency)
- Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery, and sheath removal experience
- Central line care/management, PICC line management, blood product administration
- Cardiac drip titration (Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Milrinone, Dopamine, etc.)
- Epic charting experience preferred (EPIC experience)
- Charge experience and NIH certification preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start (telemetry competency testing)

Primary Responsibilities (Telemetry Nurse Duties)
- Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac patients, including those with congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and post-cardiac cath
- Continuous telemetry monitoring and timely interpretation of cardiac rhythms; respond to rapid response and code teams
- Monitor and manage cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, etc.)
- Perform sheath pulls, manage TR Bands, and assist with Femstop procedures
- Administer blood products and manage central/PICC lines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and more
- Document patient care accurately in EPIC using SBAR communication for safe handoffs
- Float to other units as needed based on facility requirements (flexible telemetry nurse assignments)
- Participate in Storm Team/Hurricane Team as assigned during catastrophic events
