Travel ER RN – 13-week night shift in Richmond, VA 23226. Earn $1,910–$2,010/week caring for all ages in a modern, high-acuity Emergency Department. Job Details
- Job Type: Travel Nurse / Emergency Department RN
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
- Location: Richmond, VA 23226 (Richmond, Virginia)
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30pm – 8:00am); every other weekend and one major holiday required
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit Size: 30 beds, 14 Fast Track beds (+ hallway beds as needed)
- Patient Population: Community ED – all ages, all medical complaints (no trauma)
- Support Staff: RT, PCTs, phlebotomy, ED techs, unit secretary, triage nurses, charge nurse, MD and ACP support on-site 24/7
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience required (ED RN, ER nurse)
- Experience with conscious sedation required
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius (no local candidates)
- Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide available)
- Current RN license in Virginia or compact state (Virginia RN or compact license)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CPI / De-escalation training required
- Copy of nursing diploma required
- EPIC EHR experience preferred (electronic health record experience helpful for ED workflow)
Responsibilities
- Conduct initial triage, ongoing assessments, and develop individualized care plans for emergency patients
- Safely administer medications and manage IV therapies per facility policy
- Coordinate patient care across hospital departments and serve as a patient safety advocate
- Manage the physical and emotional demands of emergency nursing and high-acuity patient care
- Use modern ED equipment and technology (Alaris pumps, Panda warmers, Hamilton ventilators, Autopulse, GlideScope, AmbuScope, ultrasound, EKG machine, bladder scanner, cast cutter)
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and external agencies (EMS, law enforcement, protective services)
- Apply cultural diversity and inclusion principles in patient-centered emergency care
- Maintain professionalism, accountability, and resilience in a fast-paced ED environment
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement, clinical education, and performance initiatives
