• Location: On-site in Chardon, Ohio (44024) — Northeast Ohio hospital job. Chardon is known for its welcoming community, scenic countryside, and charming historic downtown. Located in the heart of Geauga County, Chardon offers easy access to beautiful parks, outdoor recreation, and is just a short drive from Cleveland and other Northeast Ohio attractions.
• Setting: Hospital, Level 3 Trauma Center (Operating Room/OR and OB)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 3, 2026 – August 1, 2026)
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour days)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Call Requirements: One weekday call per week and two weekend days (Saturday or Sunday) in a 6-week period. Must be able to respond within 30 minutes when on call.

Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Surgical Tech or Surgical Assistant in an operating room (OR) or hospital setting
• Valid Surgical Assistant certification (Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credentials accepted where applicable)
• Ability to cover OB for C-sections as needed during the day and when on call (C-section experience preferred)
• Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes
• Completion of required onboarding health screenings and background checks (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella, Tdap, Fit Test, Influenza Vaccine, 2 Step PPD or IGRA, Physical/Health Statement, and criminal background check)
• Valid Driver's License or State ID
• Completion of skills checklist and competency exam

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in surgical procedures in the operating room, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety as a Surgical Tech
• Provide support for obstetrics cases, including C-sections, when required by the OB team
• Participate in weekday and weekend call rotation, responding promptly to supervisor requests and trauma activations
• Maintain readiness to assist in trauma cases as part of a Level 3 Trauma Center (trauma surgical tech responsibilities)
• Collaborate with surgeons, registered nurses (RNs), anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care
• Ensure accurate documentation and compliance with hospital protocols, OR policies, and infection control standards
