Travel Nurse Job Details

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2130 - $2250
• Location: Kearney, Nebraska (zip 68845) — Kearney healthcare, Nebraska nursing jobs
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12 Hour Nights; every other weekend; first to float; up to 2 extra mandatory shifts per 6 weeks
• Unit: Mixed Skilled PCU / Med Surg Stepdown — medical-surgical nurse, stepdown nurse, progressive care
• Care Setting: Acute care hospital
• Charting System: EPIC

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active RN license (Registered Nurse) in the U.S.; ability to obtain state authorization if required
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg or PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience — medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Comfortable floating to Telemetry and Med/Surg units as needed (telemetry nurse skills)
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to Med/Surg (MSU) and PCU patients in an acute care setting
• Manage patient assignments at an approximate 1:4 ratio for PCU and 1:5 for Med/Surg groups
• Float to Telemetry and Med/Surg units as required and perform related monitoring and interventions
• Use EPIC for accurate charting, documentation, and handoffs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, case management) to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
