Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) travel opportunity in Wichita Falls, TX — 13-week contract with competitive weekly pay. Join a compassionate OB nursing team delivering maternal-newborn care in a community hospital setting in North Texas.

Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,040 - $2,150 (competitive travel nursing pay)
• Location: Wichita Falls, TX – Zip: 76301 (Wichita Falls nursing jobs / Texas travel nurse)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026)
• Shifts: Day shifts, 3x12-hour or 4x12-hour (07:00 – 19:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (facility may consider either)
• Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site (Labor & Delivery RN / OB nurse)
• Orientation: 24 hours
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Float: Will float to Mother/Baby unit as needed (maternal-newborn care)
• Call: Possible, once per 4-week schedule

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (L&D experience required)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas (license in-hand required before start)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring), NRPS, AWHONN (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced)
• Epic charting experience preferred (electronic medical record / EMR experience)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to complete required labs within 72 hours of offer acceptance
• Ability to float to Mother/Baby unit and provide postpartum/newborn care
• Patient ratio experience: 2:1 (typical Labor & Delivery staffing)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive maternal, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care as a Labor & Delivery RN
• Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections (C-sections), and vaginal births
• Float to Mother/Baby unit to support maternal-newborn and postpartum nursing care as needed
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, manage IVs, and document in Epic
• Educate and support new parents on breastfeeding, newborn care, and discharge instructions
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response/code teams when required
• Maintain compliance with facility protocols, AWHONN best practices, and patient safety standards
