• Location: Alamogordo, NM 88310 (Otero County) — New Mexico travel nursing opportunity
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (multiple shifts available; start times between 3pm – 7pm)
• Hours per Week: 36

Required Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience with exposure to Level I, II, or III trauma cases
• Current RN license in New Mexico or multistate compact RN license (compact state)
• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)
• PALS (AHA)
• TNCC certification (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred — competitive for New Mexico nursing jobs

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in the ED, including strokes, STEMIs, Level I traumas, post-surgical and pregnancy complications, pediatrics, behavioral health, and clinic-type urgent cases
• Perform full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for emergency patients
• Administer medications and emergency treatments per protocol; monitor for effectiveness and adverse reactions
• Accurately document patient history, symptoms, medications, procedures, and care provided in the electronic health record
• Assess learning needs and provide patient, family, and caregiver education for discharge and follow-up
• Delegate tasks appropriately and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to manage clinical situations and patient flow
• Participate in orientation, competency validation, and ongoing annual competency requirements for Emergency Department staff
