Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience as a Respiratory Therapist (ICU/ER experience preferred)
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred; CRT with NBRC credentials considered
- Active Ohio Respiratory Therapy license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Proven ability to follow hospital protocols, safety standards, and department policies
- Experience with ventilator management, arterial blood gas analysis, and pulmonary function testing
Responsibilities
- Provide timely diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary services to inpatients and outpatients
- Manage mechanical ventilators, initiate ventilator protocols, and provide ventilator weaning support
- Perform airway maintenance, intubations, and insertion of arterial lines as needed
- Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive procedures, including respiratory procedures in critical care
- Deliver medicated aerosols and manage medical compressed gas therapy
- Conduct pulmonary function studies, cardiac and pulmonary stress tests, and blood gas analyses
- Document respiratory care, maintain equipment, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
