- Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Rutherford County, Nashville area) — Tennessee travel nursing job
- Setting: Med/Surg and Ortho/Spine Unit (54 beds; includes 11-bed dedicated ortho/spine unit)
- Shift: 12 Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) — Night shift RN
- Hours per Week: 36
- Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/3/2026)
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 – $1,730
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active RN license (State of Tennessee or compact RN license preferred)
- BLS certification required; ACLS optional
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience; experience with orthopedic/spine patients or trauma is a plus
- Proficient assessment, prioritization, and critical thinking skills for medical-surgical and telemetry patients
- Strong time management, documentation (Meditech), and organizational abilities
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (RN/LPN, PCTs, physicians, respiratory therapy, IR)
- Dependable, adaptable, with effective verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to medical-surgical, orthopedic/spine, trauma, and psych medical hold patients
- Perform general Med/Surg procedures and support post-procedure care including post-catheterizations, thoracentesis/paracentesis, and IR-assisted procedures
- Manage advanced equipment and modalities: Alaris infusion pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, chest tubes, specialty beds
- Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in Meditech (electronic health record)
- Collaborate with the care team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans that improve outcomes
- Float within the unit as needed; participate in flexible scheduling including at least one weekend per 4-week period
- Maintain a safe, organized environment and adhere to hospital clinical protocols and safety standards
