- Location: Smyrna, TN 37167 (Nashville area) — ICU nursing jobs in Tennessee
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 – $1,650
- Start Date: May 4, 2026
- End Date: August 3, 2026
- Setting: 16-bed ICU, Trauma Level III
- Patient Ratio: 2:1 (critical care)
- Dress Code: Charcoal gray scrubs
Qualifications (ICU RN Requirements)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year recent ICU or critical care nursing experience
- Experience with ventilator management, sedation, and medication titration preferred
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system is a plus
- Strong teamwork, positive attitude, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work every other weekend and float as needed
Key Responsibilities (Critical Care Nurse Duties)
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in a 16-bed ICU
- Manage ventilators, sedation protocols, and titration of critical medications
- Assist with critical procedures: tracheostomy care, bronchoscopy support, cardioversion, and emergency interventions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, respiratory therapists, techs, and unit secretaries
- Operate and monitor GE cardiac monitors, Dräger ventilators, Nova glucometers, and Pyxis medication systems
- Document accurately using Meditech and maintain timely clinical notes
- Provide patient and family education, maintain communication boards, and follow AIDET communication standards
- Participate in staff rotation, support a positive patient experience, and contribute to unit quality initiatives
