- Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/3/2026)
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,570 – $1,650 (competitive pay for travel ICU RN)
- Unit: SICU, 12 beds; 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (acuity-based)
- Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), 36 hours/week
- Employment Type: Travel, On-site critical care nursing
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (compact or TN state license preferred)
- Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience (cardiac critical care preferred)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; CCRN certification a plus
- Experience with post open-heart care (minimum 1–2 days postop)
- Familiarity with critical care equipment: Impella heart pump, advanced hemodynamic and Hemosphere monitoring; CRRT experience a plus
- Ability to float to other units as needed (PCU/Med-Surg)
- Strong communication, patient education, and patient experience skills
- Ability to comply with facility dress code (navy scrubs required)
Core Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality critical care nursing for medically complex and post-op open-heart patients in a Surgical ICU
- Manage a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, adjusting care based on acuity
- Operate and monitor advanced critical care devices, including Impella and Hemosphere, and participate in CRRT when indicated
- Perform and assist with critical care procedures (intubation support, hemodynamic monitoring, post-op management)
- Respond to rapid response and code blue events as an active member of the critical care team
- Document patient care accurately in Meditech and communicate interdisciplinary care plans
- Support flexible scheduling, including a minimum of 3 weekend shifts per month
- Provide patient and family education regarding care plans, medications, and recovery expectations
