Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU / neurocritical care nursing experience (preferred travel nursing experience)
• Current RN license — compact RN accepted or Ohio RN license required at time of submission (Ohio nursing jobs)
• BLS and ACLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Epic EHR experience (electronic health record experience preferred)
• Two professional references (at least one manager/director or formal leadership reference)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity critical care for adult patients with ischemic/hemorrhagic strokes, neuromuscular disorders, meningitis, seizures, and post-neurosurgical needs
• Monitor and manage intracranial pressure (ICP), ventilators, and telemetry in the Neuro ICU
• Perform IV starts, arterial line management, and administer emergency/critical care medications
• Care for ventilated patients and manage central lines and PICC lines
• Assist with bedside procedures such as tracheostomy care, PEG management, and EVD monitoring
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity as needed to support staffing across critical care and step-down units
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, PT, RT, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Maintain infection prevention protocols, isolation precautions, and patient safety standards
